Purpose of Council
The Finance Council is representative of the parish as a whole. It advises the pastor regarding temporal matters of the parish with an emphasis on Finance.
The Finance Council works closely with the parish administrator to coordinate budgets, which includes the stewardship fund raising process. The Council ensures timely and accurate financial reporting to the Archdiocese and the membership and is responsible for the treasury function. The Finance Council is a consultative body that assists the pastor in meeting these obligations. While the Parish Finance Council does not have decision making authority, consultation is at the heart of the decision-making process--sharing, information, listening, contributing to the discussion, and promoting consensus.
