Sometimes it’s difficult to make connections at a church as large as Holy Name of Jesus. That's why we offer a Big Small Dinner twice a year - in the fall and in the spring. It’s a chance to make small connections at a big church.
Stay tuned for our next Big Small Dinner.
If you would like to attend, please contact Tim.
Dinner is free. We will also provide both nursery-age and school-age care as well as dinner for the kids. The Big Small Dinner is an opportunity to meet some of your fellow parishioners, come to know why Holy Name of Jesus is a special place and get to know our parish priests. The night will wrap up by 7:30 p.m.; however, those who wish to stay later are more than welcome. Due to size limitations, an RSVP is required.

Big Small Dinner is the Place to Make Connections
Several years ago, I met a man named Bill Rudolf. After getting to know him a bit I found out he had been baptized at Holy Name of Jesus in 1928 and has never left. He graduated from Holy Name of Jesus School before my parents were born. Confirmed, married and raised his family all in that little white church. Amazing. Amazing to meet someone with such a shared history at HNOJ.
As wonderful as Bill’s story is, we don’t all share it. HNOJ’s history is great, but some of us are just starting our time here. HNOJ is large, which means there is a great number of vibrant activities and ministries to be a part of, but in a parish so large it can be hard to make connections. For this reason, we started the Big Small Dinner last year.
For those of us who are newer to HNOJ or have been coming for a while and don’t yet feel connected at Holy Name of Jesus: Please consider joining us for the next Big Small Dinner, --- at HNOJ. Dinner is free and is catered. We will also provide both nursery age and school age care as well as dinner for the kids. The Big Small Dinner is an opportunity to meet some of your fellow parishioners and come to know why Holy Name of Jesus is a special place, and get to know our parish priests. The night will wrap up by 7:30 p.m.; however, those who wish to stay later are more than welcome.
Those parishioners who have made deep connections and engaged in our various ministries are encouraged to support the Big Small Dinner in two ways. First, pray for a successful night for all who attend. We really believe in the power of prayer and know that this event will only accomplish its mission if the Holy Spirit moves powerfully. Second, engaged parishioners can encourage any new parishioner they may meet to consider attending.
The Big Small Dinner has a limited number of spots available (after all it is a big-SMALL dinner), so members of our community are invited to RSVP online as soon as you can. If we run out of spots, we will be looking to fill our next Big Small Dinner.
