Holy Name of Jesus is now hiring for:

Temporary Full-Time Position: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. This could be a 1-2 month assignment.
Part-Time Position: 16 hours per week, Saturdays and Sundays, 6 a.m.-2 p.m.

These positions offer a variety of responsibilities, including regular cleaning, routine maintenance tasks and assisting with event set up and take down as needed for various parish activities.

Coordinator of Middle School Youth Ministry

Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community in Wayzata is seeking a highly skilled Coordinator of Middle School Youth Ministry. This full-time position will empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ and to continue to guide the catechetical education of the middle school youth. This includes responsibility for offering inspired teaching, engaging evangelical moments, and equipping adults in leading teens closer to Christ. Additionally, this position is responsible for planning and executing annual retreats, mission trips and summer camps.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

Have a bachelor’s degree. A degree in an area of Theology and/or Catholic Studies is preferred.
Be proficient in computer technology and ability to learn and adopt to new computer systems and programs.
Be a practicing Catholic with a strong knowledge and appreciation of the Catholic faith and traditions.
Have strong project management and organizational skills, along with oral and written communication skills.
Have strong interpersonal and leadership skills with an ability to connect, collaborative and form effective partnerships with a wide range of individuals.

Ministry and Parish Administrative Associate

We are seeking a dynamic competent individual to join our team as a Ministry and Parish Administrative Associate full-time (32h).

Key Responsibilities:

Faith Formation Support:

• Assist with First Sacrament preparation and organizing and implementing catechetical programs for parish adults and youth who desire sacramental preparation and formation for the Order of Christian Initiation.

• Assist with registrations, sacramental records, maintaining records in ParishSoft, and administrative tasks for various programs and events.

• Coordinate baptisms, scheduling dates with clergy, managing registrations, responding to inquiries, organizing baptism classes, designing certificates with InDesign and preparing all necessary supplies.

General Parish Office Support

• Maintain sacramental records (Baptism, Marriage, First Communion, Confirmation, Funerals) ensuring accuracy and updating as needed. Prepare and distribute sacramental notifications and certificates upon request.

• Serve as backup to the Office Coordinator, managing outgoing and incoming mail and assisting with front desk duties including answering phones and reception on Fridays.

• Stay informed about parish programs to provide knowledgeable assistance to parishioners, ensuring effective support and guidance as needed.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

• Work alongside parish staff to ensure efficient operations and a welcoming environment for parishioners.

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher) and ability to learn new software.

• Previous experience in a church environment is a plus.

Requirements:

• Practicing Roman Catholic, understanding and respecting Catholic doctrine and practices.

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

• Availability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.

Elementary Faith Formation Coordinator

DESCRIPTION

Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community in Wayzata is seeking a highly skilled Elementary Faith Formation Coordinator. This full-time position will develop the faith of children in the parish and their families by conducting classes, workshops, service opportunities and social opportunities. This includes responsibility for Sunday School classes, Wednesday evening faith formation classes and Vacation Bible School. Additionally, this position is responsible for planning and implementing processes for First Sacraments that engages parents in the life of the parish.

Staff Choral Singers

DESCRIPTION
The Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community (HNOJ) invites applications for two staff singer positions in all voice parts (SATB). The singers will serve as section leaders for the HNOJ Choir most Sundays. Opportunities to sing together as an 8-voice schola for Masses are also scheduled throughout the year as well as cantor/solo opportunities. The full 2023-2024 choral season runs from the second Sunday in September through the first weekend in June. We are currently seeking one soprano, two tenors and two bass/baritones. Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community in the Wayzata/Plymouth area.

SPECIFICS
Scheduling is usually a two-hour call on Sunday mornings. There is a rehearsal at 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and then the choir sings at the 10:30 a.m. Mass. Scheduling is meant to be flexible, but successful applicants will be asked to make a prioritized commitment to HNOJ liturgies during the Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the Easter/Triduum holidays. Singers can expect between 50 and 60 calls during the full choir season and are paid $80 per two-hour call. The Wednesday night one- and one-half hour rehearsal is optional at the pay of $75 per Wednesday call. Wedding and funeral opportunities are available and are paid on a different call/fee schedule.

Qualifications: Strong vocal performance, sight-reading and social skills are required.
